Dominic had an appointment with a Team of people at the CAD Clinic today, so that he could get re-diagnosed. Since he was just 15 months when he was first diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum, they wanted to re-evaluate him and see where he is today; at 2 years 9 months. Unfortunately, it was not the diagnosis I wanted to hear. With no speech at all, he is even further behind developmentally.
A good friend sent me this quote today and while I'm not a terribly religious person unless you count how many times a day I utter "God Damn" or "Jesus Christ", this quote touched me:
'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence... 'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'
I'm trying my hardest to believe in miracles right now.
